13th and Paxton Streets. There’s more information about it here:

What a stupid idea. This was a waste of money, as it’s going to accomplish nothing.

This should be fought in the courts. The case law is clear on this. The US Supreme Court ruling on Everson v. Board of Education in 1947 is very clear on this. The establishment clause in the US constitution prohibits the federal government AND state from making a law respecting religion.

According to lawyers with the ACLU and other organizations, there’s nothing that really can be done about the resolution itself, since it doesn’t really carry the weight of law and has “no effect”.

Of course, that doesn’t address the fact that it’s “resolutions” like this that are then used to justify further abuses of the separation of church and state.

Lame. In any case, if I was involved in putting that up I would be laying low for a little while. I live in the city, and have friends who have friends in that area and the locals see it only as being racist and are VERY upset.

God, holy books, hearsay, propaganda, and fantasy belong in a church—not government.

The billboard clearly posits the message that Pennsylvania legislatures need stop endorsing “their personal religious beliefs” and imposing them on society. The legislature clearly has no regard for separation of church and state.
